The Territorial Center for Social Services for the Population celebrated its housewarming in Novopolotsk
The solemn opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Marianna Shchetkina, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee Natalya Kochanova, Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Khristoforov, Archbishop of Polotsk and Glubokoye Feodosiy, heads of enterprises and organizations of Novopolotsk, which are part of the center's board of trustees.
Speaking about the activities of the social service for the population of Neftegrad, Marianna Shchetkina noted that decent conditions have been created for clients here, specialists of the NTSOON are searching for and implementing innovative technologies and new types of services, and the board of trustees established by the decision of the city executive committee helps to solve pressing problems "all together."
– The main thing is that in your beautiful new home, specialists continue to work sincerely, wishing to help people with all their heart, – stated Marianna Akindinovna.
Vladimir Terentyev continued the theme of the significance of the opening of the new Territorial Center for Social Services for the Population:
– In the Vitebsk region, more than 360,000 people need and receive state care. In less than five months, this is the third facility commissioned in the social protection sector, along with the round-the-clock care center for the elderly in the agro-town of Kruplevshchina and a boarding house in Dunilovichi. It is gratifying that the authorities of Novopolotsk are very attentive to the city residents and provide them with comprehensive assistance.
– Every person, every Novopolotsk resident is dear to us, especially those in need of social support. Moving to a new building allowed us to combine all the service departments and create comfortable conditions for citizens belonging to socially vulnerable groups, – emphasized the Chairperson of the City Executive Committee, Natalya Kochanova. She thanked the Director of KUP ZhREO, Dmitry Demidov, and the enterprise's team, which acted as the contractor for the facility, for the prompt and high-quality execution of construction work. Dmitry Vladimirovich handed over the symbolic key to the cozy house to Zhanna Sonich, the director of the "service of kind hearts."
The event program continued with a tour of the center, where, in addition to the five main departments, there are now the "Mercy" salon, a social hairdresser, a library and laundry, a psychological relaxation room, a computer class, and a gym.
