The second stage of the unique complex "Nursery-kindergarten – elementary school" has been commissioned in Novopolotsk
The solemn opening of an important social facility was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Penin, Head of the Education Department Dmitry Khoma, Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Vasily Drobotov, Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Devyatovsky.
The new educational and pedagogical complex occupies an area of over 15 thousand square meters, consists of three buildings, and is one of the largest in the country. Its construction began five years ago and was necessitated by the deficit of educational institutions in intensively developing microdistricts with a large number of young families.
The first phase, consisting of a nursery-kindergarten for 294 children and a school block with a swimming pool, canteen, assembly hall, and sports hall, was completed last year. And now, at the final stage, the primary school, which has become a branch of Gymnasium No. 1, has been put into operation. In total, about 128 billion undenominated rubles from the city and regional budgets were spent on construction.
The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee called these investments investments in the future.
– One of the priorities for the region's development, – emphasized Vladimir Penin, – is the creation not only of a comfortable living environment but also of conditions for the upbringing and spiritual development of the younger generation. The Regional Executive Committee constantly supports the education system, allocating about 30% of the budget annually for its maintenance, which amounts to over 510 million rubles this year. Construction of preschool institutions is underway in Vitebsk, Orsha, Glubokoye, and modernization of schools in Tolochin and Dubrovno.
Today, 220,000 children and adolescents under 18 years of age live in the Vitebsk region. It is gratifying, noted Vladimir Petrovich, that the birth rate is increasing every year, and Novopolotsk is one of the leaders in population growth. It is also symbolic that Novopolotsk was the first city in Belarus to be awarded the honorary title of a city friendly to children.
A gift for the new residents from the Regional Executive Committee was
a certificate for 15,000 rubles. In addition, Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Novopolotsk City Executive Committee, transferred 10,000 rubles for the development of the material and technical base of the new school. For assistance in the construction of this landmark facility, the head of the city expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the regional executive committee, the education department, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, and also sincerely thanked everyone who participated in the construction – from marking the territory to the final design touch.
Alexander Frol, General Director of Construction Trust No. 16, handed over the symbolic key to the new school to Natalya Aldanova, Director of Gymnasium No. 1.
Then the red ribbon was cut, and the hosts invited guests on a tour of the building, where 285 young Novopolotsk residents have already taken their seats since the beginning of the second quarter. It was evident that they really liked their new home of knowledge – spacious, bright, cozy, equipped according to the most modern standards with the application of innovative approaches.
Computer classes, special rooms for labor, singing, choreography, and separate rooms for working with a psychologist and speech therapist are equipped with everything necessary. Sports halls, a swimming pool, and a medical unit will help children improve their health, and the staff of the canteen and buffet will take care of healthy eating.
– One can only dream of such luxurious conditions. The city is growing, developing, and it deserves such a wonderful gift, – shared Vadim Devyatovsky.
The participants of the grand opening left the first entries in the school's chronicle book, wishing the students and teachers creative success, good luck, and well-being.
