In the current conscription campaign, 1400 young men from the Vitebsk region will be sent to the Belarusian army for compulsory service

В нынешнюю призывную кампанию 1400 юношей от Витебской области отправятся в белорусские войска для прохождения срочной службы

As noted by the acting head of the military service conscription department of the regional military commissariat, Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Kunakhovets, there are no problems with the formation of the conscription contingent.

The other day, 180 conscripts were sent from the regional collection point to undergo active military service in the special operations forces units, the military commandant's office and the canine center of the Armed Forces, as well as to the 19th Guards Separate Mechanized Brigade, stationed in the village of Zaslonovo, Lepel district. In total, during this conscription campaign, 1400 people from the region will be sent to positions of soldiers and sergeants, and more than 250 to reserve service.

– It should be noted that about 80% of reservists have higher education and are highly qualified specialists in government bodies, science and culture, – explained the officer of the regional military commissariat. – Those with difficult family circumstances can also count on reserve service.

As is known, a law on alternative service has been adopted in our country. It comes into force in July 2016. According to Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Kunakhovets, military commissariats are ready for this.

At the rally on the occasion of the first dispatch to the troops, veteran of the airborne forces, chairman of the regional organization of the Belarusian Union of Officers, retired Colonel Sergey Glushchuk, congratulated the youth on this memorable event in their lives. Clergyman Father Alexander blessed the conscripts for military deeds.

Among those who arrived at the collection point of the Vitebsk Regional Military Commissariat last Monday were natives of the Lepel district, Artur Malinovskiy, German Khromtsov, and Alexander Davydov. The guys will perform their constitutional duty in the 103rd Guards Separate Mobile Brigade of the special operations forces.

– It will not be easy to serve in the renowned unit, but we are ready for it, – said Alexander. – We will look forward to the first parachute jump and support each other in difficult times.

After finishing school, Alexander Davydov graduated from the Lepel State Vocational Lyceum and managed to gain some work experience. The future paratrooper mentioned that he has a girlfriend waiting for him back home, and he hopes she will wait for him. Herman Khromtsov, on the other hand, is no stranger to uniforms, early mornings, and forced marches. He studied for a year at the communications faculty of the military academy in Minsk.

– Studying didn't work out, as I've been drawn to the sky since childhood. There will be time to decide on a profession, – Herman shared. He does not rule out that after his service, he will re-apply to the academy, but this time for the aviation faculty. Through his own experience, the young man was able to convince himself that having reliable friends in the army is a great thing.

Artur Malinovskiy agrees with his comrades on this. He is confident that the army will make him a real man, and therefore, everything in life will be fine.
