The regional executive committee introduced the new Presidential Aide – Chief Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Nikolai Sherstnev
The regional executive committee held a presentation of the new Aide to the President of the Republic of Belarus – Chief Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Nikolai Sherstnev.
Nikolai Nikolaevich is originally from the Orsha district. After graduating from the Vitebsk Veterinary Institute, he began his career as an animal breeder at the Kuibyshev collective farm, the same farm where his father, the renowned mechanic, Hero of Socialist Labor, and holder of 4 gold medals of the All-Union Exhibition of Economic Achievements, Nikolai Sherstnev, worked. It was he, as the newly appointed representative of the President of Belarus in the Vitebsk Region told the management staff of the regional executive committee at the meeting, who helped him make the right choice in life, taught him the main thing – to be honest and hardworking.
At one time, Nikolai Sherstnev Jr. headed the “Banner of Victory” collective farm in the Orsha district, was the first deputy chairman, head of the agriculture and food department of the Minsk regional executive committee, and headed the republican association “Belptitseprom”. Recently, he worked as the general director of OJSC “1st Minsk Poultry Farm”.
The Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Anatoly Lis, while introducing Nikolai Sherstnev, expressed confidence that he would cope with his duties and would work in tandem with the local authorities on the tasks facing the region.
Much remains to be done. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, outlined the range of issues that need to be addressed, primarily in the agricultural sector. Vitebsk region is one of the largest in terms of area, with over 6.3 thousand settlements and many farmsteads located within its territory. This creates its own specifics in the region's development. The region is among the top three leaders in most forecast indicators. It is necessary not only to maintain this position but also to improve it if possible. Currently, Alexander Kosinets emphasized, it is necessary to successfully complete the five-year plan and implement the planned investment programs in the economic and social spheres.
– I have special feelings about returning to work in my homeland. There are two key words in my job title: assistant and inspector. The first is the most important for me. We will work together, helping each other for the benefit of our region, people, and country, – noted Nikolai Sherstnev in his address to the representatives of the regional authorities.
