In Vitebsk public transport, travel tickets for beneficiaries have been issued since February 1.

From February 1, conductors of buses, trams, and trolleybuses in Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region began issuing single travel tickets to passengers of privileged categories.

As explained to a correspondent of "Vitebskiye Vestі" at JSC "Vitebskoblavtotrans", the purpose of the reform is to comply with the requirements of the public contract, which defines the rights and obligations of the carrier and the passenger.

If previously beneficiaries were not required to have a single ticket in their possession, now, upon presenting their identification, they receive a special coupon with a green stripe from the conductor. Being on public transport without this document is considered illegal, and therefore it must be kept until the end of the trip.

We remind you that the categories of citizens entitled to free travel are defined by the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On State Social Benefits, Rights and Guarantees" dated June 14, 2007 (Art. 13). Students of the Vitebsk region from September 1 to June 30, 2019, are also entitled to receive a free ticket on urban public transport based on a certificate of the established form, which is issued by an educational institution.
