In the Orsha district, the second crew in the Vitebsk region to harvest 1,000 tons of rapeseed was honored

It took senior combine operator Oleg Sushkevich and his assistant Vitaly Sumanov two weeks to reach the coveted milestone. The frontrunners of the harvest are working at the Zadneprovsky Agricultural Production Center branch of Orsha KhKP OJSC within the Orsha Agro-Industrial Association. Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Boris Efremov congratulated them on this achievement. He thanked the farmers for their work, presented them with diplomas and prizes.

– The official start of the harvest campaign in the region was announced in the Orsha district only recently, and today we are honoring the thousand-ton crew harvesting winter rapeseed here, – said Boris Sergeyevich. – It so happened that on the same day, within a couple of hours, two crews in the region reached this result. This is significant. To provide the public herd of Vitebsk region, we need to have 230 thousand tons of rapeseed meal per year. As for grain crops, they have yielded well this year – we will have bread.

Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Igor Isachenko and Chairman of the Regional Committee of the Trade Union of Agricultural Workers Tatyana Yeroma joined the congratulations and, presenting the well-deserved awards to the frontrunners, noted the general mood for success and the positive dynamics of the harvest campaign.

For Oleg Sushkevich, this is already the fifth harvest season. The second one as a senior combine operator. He has been working in tandem with Vitaly Sumanov for the first year. The farmers threshed about 100 tons of rapeseed per day. Each of the grain growers has already become a hero of the regional "Dazhynki" in their nomination.

The farmers are working from 8 am to almost 11 pm on a CLAAS Lexion 770. This model is equipped with a universal 12-meter header and has an improved threshing system.

The yield of winter rapeseed in the Orsha district is satisfactory. On average, 25.1 centners per hectare were obtained from one hectare. This is the second result in the region after the Vitebsk district.
