A new administrative building for the Kopyssky forestry office has opened in the Orsha district
The field meeting of the board of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus, which took place at the Orsha District Executive Committee, was preceded by the opening of a new administrative building for the Kopyssky forestry office.
It opened its doors after the completion of construction and landscaping of the adjacent territory. This became a real gift for both the 42 employees of the unit and for the entire "Orsha Leskhoz" State Forestry Enterprise. The fifth facility in the structure of the Vitebsk State Forestry Association put into operation this year was completed in seven months. The modern administrative building, for the construction of which the Orsha Leskhoz spent about 6 billion undenominated rubles, is now an adornment of the central part of the urban settlement. Spacious offices, an assembly hall, a dining room, a bathroom with showers, utility rooms with computers and office equipment, enclosed garages and outbuildings on the territory, a surveillance tower, a mini arboretum – comfortable working conditions have been created here. This was noted by the General Director of the Vitebsk State Forestry Association, Sergey Danilovich, during the opening ceremony. "Today, Orsha Leskhoz is one of the leading enterprises in the forestry sector of our country," he emphasized. "It has repeatedly been recognized as the best in terms of socio-economic development and has been included in the Republican Board of Honor. Wonderful people, true professionals, work here, and in addition to investments in processing, harvesting, and technical re-equipment, funds should be invested in their decent working conditions."
The new facility was also appreciated by the Minister of Forestry, Mikhail Amelyanovich, who arrived in Orsha to participate in the field board meeting of the department. He stressed that the development of the forestry sector is one of the priority areas in the state's economy. The foresters, both of the country and of the "Orsha Leskhoz" State Forestry Enterprise, face tasks such as increasing the efficiency and quality of work, rational use of the forest resource potential, and fulfillment of the projected indicators of socio-economic development of enterprises.
These issues were discussed by the heads of the State Forestry Institution "Minsk Experimental Forestry", forestries, structural divisions and organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Forestry at a meeting in the Orsha District Executive Committee. As for the successes of the Orsha Forestry, they are justifiably associated with the director Sergey Sukhodolov, who headed the structure four years ago. "We focused primarily on modernization and did not lose out. Plus, accurate economic calculation, a competent, professional approach to solving production issues and, most importantly, bringing order to all structural divisions, strict adherence to financial and executive discipline," said Sergey Sukhodolov.
For the last three years, the forestry has been actively updating its production, and the results of such innovations are obvious. During this period, export revenue has increased almost 3 times. And if in 2012 the forestry shipped about 70 wagons of products abroad per month, now this figure has increased to 300. In 2015, the forestry earned over 121 billion non-denominated rubles from the sale of products, works and services, or 136.4% compared to the 2014 level. Investments in fixed assets in 2015 amounted to 13.8 billion rubles.
The farm's machine and tractor fleet is growing every year, assortment logging and the number of equipment for forestry and logging operations have increased. The introduction of high-performance equipment has allowed the forestry to achieve significant growth in industrial production volumes and improve its financial situation.
In 2015, a new foreign sorting and sawing line was installed. Modern equipment made it possible not only to automate the process and increase volumes, but also to significantly reduce raw material consumption per unit of output and substantially improve its quality. Now, about 1,300 cubic meters of sawn timber are produced per month, compared to about 400 cubic meters in 2012.
In addition, the forestry skillfully uses the fact that Orsha is a major railway hub. Loading where it was produced or organizing transportation with the shortest haul is a key rule in the enterprise's logistics.
Not so long ago, a new base was opened at the forestry
a forest nursery, equipped on its territory with 2 greenhouses with a fine-droplet and diffuse irrigation system for growing planting material with a closed root system. In addition, Orsha forestry has taken a targeted course to improve the working conditions of its employees. They have not yet finished the work on the reconstruction of Osintorfsky and Bolbasovsky forestries, opened a new administrative building in Kopys, as they have already laid the first stone in the foundation of Orsha.
