A section of the M1-Bolbasovo road has been opened in the Orsha district

Construction of the republican access road to the "Bremіno-Orsha" industrial and logistics complex has been completed. Today, 12 kilometers of the new M1 highway were opened to traffic.

The symbolic red ribbon was cut by Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Andrey Ivanov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Belous, Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Igor Isachenko, Director of RUP "Vitebskavtodor" Adam Konoplich, General Director of OJSC "Road Construction Trust No. 1 of Vitebsk" Oleg Kaptsevich.

According to Andrey Ivanov, this is the first road in the Vitebsk region built entirely with a concrete surface.

The access road from the R15 Krichevo – Orsha – Lepel highway to the R76 Orsha – Shklov – Mogilev highway connects the republican highways with the "Bremіno-Orsha" logistics complex under construction.

The client for the construction was RUP "Vitebskavtodor", and the project was implemented byemployees of Vitebsk DST No. 1.

It's hard to believe that just a year and a half ago, there was a field where this complex engineering structure now stands. More precisely, it was hills – the elevation difference is clearly visible in the photo, and this, by the way, only enhances the road. The excavation volumes at the site were extraordinary, said the chief engineer of DST No. 1, Sergey Klebanov:

— To build the road, we had to excavate and transport almost a million cubic meters of soil. We practically didn't bring soil from quarries to the construction site – the excavation was sufficient. But these works are long behind us., now we see a Category II road with a cement-concrete pavement and a single-axle load of 11.5 tons. Its length is slightly over 12 kilometers, and its width is 7 meters.

Incidentally, over a distance of 12 kilometers, three bridges have been constructed here — across the Adrov River, the Kholostovka River, the Klyuchnikova River, and an overpass across the railway. At the junctions with the R15 and R76 highways, as well as at the intersection with the local road N3100 Orsha — Kokhanovo — Oboltsy, illuminated roundabout intersections have been arranged. The network of reclaimed land has been restored and reconstructed over an area of 23 hectares. To protect against traffic noise, noise barriers have been installed in the villages of Lomachino and Nizhnyaya Verovisha. For pedestrian safety, a pedestrian crossing with a flashing traffic light, pedestrian paths, and markings has been created.

And all this was built in just 20 months instead of the planned 26. The funding volume is 47 million rubles.
