A dairy farm for 400 head of cattle has been commissioned after reconstruction in the village of Staiyki, Orsha district.

The large-scale renovation of the complex began in 2017. Previously, this and several other production facilities were part of OJSC "Mayak Vysokoe". He specified that the investment volume directed at the reconstruction of the dairy farm amounted to Br2.6 million. 17 new jobs have been created here, employing residents of the surrounding villages. The complex, equipped for free-stall housing of cattle, features a "Herringbone" milking parlor 2 X16. The milking parlor management system program allows for tracking milk yield for each animal. During the technological re-equipment of the farm, outdoor exercise areas were created, premises were ventilated, a watering system was installed, feed distribution was mechanized, new silage trenches were built, a weighing station, a shed for calves, and utility rooms for staff were furnished.

Currently, the farm houses 270 cows. It is planned to be fully staffed by the end of July. The profitability of the facility is already 10.5%.

In addition, in August, "Teplichny" plans to begin construction of a robotic dairy farm for 1.2 thousand heads of cattle. The complex, costing Br20.7 million, will be located nearby, with its commissioning scheduled for November 2019. The launch of the facility will allow the enterprise to create 32 new jobs and increase the share of products

livestock production in the overall production structure up to 30%. Currently, it accounts for 19% plus another percent will be added by the farm opened today.

The significance of the updated facility for the Orsha district was emphasized by the chairman of the district executive committee, Alexander Poznyak. "The commissioning of additional capacities for the production of livestock products is very important for the district in terms of creating new jobs and utilizing the capacities of our processing enterprises - the dairy plant, the meat canning factory, and the cheese factory. In total, over the next three years, four large dairy farms are planned to be built in the Orsha district," - noted Alexander Poznyak.

The work being carried out in this direction throughout the region was described to journalists by the first deputy chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Vladimir Mashero. According to him, funding has already been allocated this year for the construction of five new large dairy farms located in the Orsha, Postavy, and Vitebsk districts. The cost of each is about Br60 million. A significant amount of work is being done on the reconstruction of existing dairy farms. Currently, 50 complexes are undergoing scheduled repairs. The investment volume for each averages Br4-5 million. "This work is under strict control of the chairman of the regional executive committee," - added Vladimir Mashero. - "At the same time, special attention is paid to the Orsha district, where a significant number of facilities are located." The agricultural enterprise "Teplichny" has been engaged in livestock farming since 2001. The main share in its production structure (66%) is greenhouse and open-field vegetables. For the first half of the year, the overall profitability of sales was 3.7%, the average salary was Br790. The number of employees is 376 people.
