A batch of contraband cigarettes worth almost 1 billion rubles was seized in the Orsha district

Employees of the Orsha inter-district financial investigation department and the Orsha customs post of the Vitebsk customs detained a cargo minivan, which was used to smuggle 50 thousand packs of Parliament cigarettes with a total value of 860 million rubles.

The tobacco products, imported into our country from the Moscow region, lacked the excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus.

For this violation, an administrative protocol was drawn up against the Baranovichi limited liability company, which owns the vehicle transporting the cargo, under Part 1 of Article 12.23 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. It provides for an administrative fine of up to 300 basic units with confiscation of the goods.

The transported cargo has been confiscated. The case materials have been sent to the economic court of the Vitebsk region.
