In Orsha, sister cities from Russia and China are taking part in the 12th International Economic Forum
The main themes of the forum are economic integration, new opportunities for investment activity, and digitalization.
– This involves the implementation of digital technologies not only in the economy but also in the social sphere – medicine, education, tourism – and other areas, – noted Igor Kossovsky, Director of the Orsha Branch of the Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI). – For example, a group of teachers and students from Orsha Gymnasium No. 2 recently returned from the Chinese sister city of Qingdao. There they visited an experimental school, exchanged experiences, and saw how the educational and upbringing processes are organized. During the forum, the Orsha delegation will connect and share their impressions.
The first day of the economic forum was dedicated to investments, innovations, and international cooperation.
– The relevance of the forum is dictated by the times. We are working with a serious business program for three days, – said Natalia Vorobyova, General Director of the Vitebsk Branch of BelCCI. – Participants and guests discuss opportunities for cooperation in various economic sectors, and the implementation of joint projects, including in education and healthcare. We are focusing on innovative technologies and product quality. Undoubtedly, we are actively involving young people in the topic of business with a focus on digitalization.
For example, interactive events are planned for young people within the framework of the forum – the "Business Idea Generation" training and business games.
The Smolensk region takes the most active part in the international forum and the republican exhibition-fair year after year.
– These events are very popular among Russian businesses, – noted the president of the Union "Smolensk Chamber of Commerce and Industry" Vladimir Arkhipenkov. – By the way, more than 50 Belarusian enterprises operate successfully in our region, and trade turnover between the brotherly countries is constantly growing.
At the plenary session "Partner Cities. International Cooperation", Orsha District, SEZ "Bremno-Orsha", and Smolensk presented their potential. In an online format – the twin cities of Orsha – Tver and Qingdao.
BY THE WAY: An online ceremony was held for the signing of a cooperation agreement between the business consulting structure Huahe International (PRC) and UP "Vitebsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry". Also, a cooperation agreement was concluded between secondary school No. 34 of Tver and Orsha secondary school No. 16.
