In Orsha, the epidemic threshold for ARVI and influenza has been exceeded
January 26, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In Orsha, the epidemiological threshold for acute respiratory infections (ARIs) and influenza has been exceeded, the Vitebsk Regional Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health informed a BELTA correspondent.
The incidence in this city during the third calendar week of January increased by 25% compared to the previous week, from 1503 cases per 100,000 population to 1887. However, it is too early to talk about the start of a seasonal epidemic, specialists noted.
The largest number of cases in the city are children aged 5 to 14 years and adolescents aged 15-17 years. Due to the absence from classes due to illness of more than 30% of students, city school No. 27 and a school in the village of Bolbasovo, Orsha district, have been closed.
The incidence in Polotsk, Novopolotsk, and Vitebsk is at the pre-epidemic level, where the number of citizens seeking medical attention for acute respiratory infections and influenza has increased by 42.1%, 19.4%, and 4.4%, respectively. However, the epidemic threshold has not yet been exceeded in these control cities.
Currently, adenoviruses, RSV viruses, and mixed infections prevail in the region. Planned preventive measures and public awareness campaigns are being carried out in all healthcare facilities. -0-
