Construction of a new sports complex with a ski-roller track has begun in Orsha

A new complex for team sports with a roller ski track will be built at the Orsha Youth Sports School No. 2.

According to the chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Nikolai Lisovsky, this project is an excellent incentive for further achievements and victories. It will allow for the development of the younger generation of athletes, the country's Olympic hopes, at a higher level.

The complex is a building with two sports halls. The first, with an area of 1440 sq.m, is designed for team sports such as volleyball, basketball, handball, mini-football, and tennis. As reported by the director of Youth Sports School No. 2, Elena Tseluyeva, this hall will primarily host training sessions and competitions at the district, republican, and international levels. The premises will be equipped with telescopic stands for 206 spectators. The second hall is for boxing. Young boxers from the Orsha region will have a professional ring, a training complex, and the best equipment at their disposal.

Specialists from Stroytrest No. 18, the general contractor, have completed the general construction work, including the installation of external networks. All utilities are currently ready, and the installation of stained-glass windows is nearing completion. After that, workers will proceed with interior finishing and equipment installation. As of November 1, 14 billion 74 million rubles have been invested in the construction of the new facility.

The 2-kilometer roller ski track on the territory of the sports complex will fully comply with world standards, enabling Orsha to host competitions of various scales in the near future. Work is in full swing here today: employees of the Orsha Special Motor Transport Base are striving to complete everything efficiently and on time. More than 10 people and 6 units of equipment are involved in the project. Old trees have already been uprooted, soil is being excavated, and the track is being backfilled. After compacting the crushed stone and sand, the asphalt surface will be laid.

The need for a large sports complex in the region has been long overdue: Orsha volleyball players compete in the top league of Division B, and mini-football and basketball teams show excellent results. With the commissioning of halls equipped to the most modern standards, professional boxing will reach a qualitatively new level, and in the future, so will tennis. By the way, in the two years since the boxing section was established in the district, coach Denis Zayats has sent 4 young athletes to the Vitebsk Olympic Reserve School. This area also finds support from the Deputy Chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee, Oleg Smirnovsky, who is also the Chairman of the Regional Boxing Federation. Now, there will be more than enough opportunities to develop and improve.
