A man who fell through the ice was rescued in Orsha

Last Monday, employees of the Orsha OSVOD station rescued a man who had fallen through the ice.

To shorten the way, a 45-year-old local resident was crossing the Dnieper River on the ice. Not far away, rescuers were preparing an ice hole for the Epiphany holiday. They noticed the person in distress in time and came to the rescue.

Vyacheslav Vanyenok, a leading specialist of the regional OSVOD organization, notes that since the beginning of the year, the situation on the region's reservoirs has been favorable, with no fatalities. However, large rivers where the ice is washed away by the current are a cause for concern. It should be remembered that a person who falls through the ice in such places has almost no chance of survival. Specialists urge people to be sensible and not to save time by endangering their lives.
