The first interregional forum of young parliamentarians "Time of Your Opportunities" is being held in Orsha
In Orsha, at the initiative of the district Council of Deputies and the district executive committee, the interregional forum of young parliamentarians "Time of Your Opportunities" is being held for the first time.
The Ice Arena hosted over 50 participants from Vitebsk, Orsha, Liozno, Mogilev, and the city of Tver in the Russian Federation. The honorary guest and speaker of the event was Dmitry Demidov, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies.
– Currently, there is a very active involvement of youth in the socio-political life of our country. Youth parliaments are being created at the regional, oblast, and republican levels, and under the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. All this is done with the aim of making young people feel their involvement in the life of the country. So that they understand that their ideas, their views on life are very important to us, to the people who are engaged in state-building, the development of their regions, – said the head of the Vitebsk deputy corps. – The future of our Belarus belongs to the youth. The future of the country largely depends on how we preserve the continuity of our traditions, our spiritual guidelines, and how we convey the necessity of preserving historical memory to our growing generation. Our young people should appreciate the achievements of previous generations. So that they understand that they are needed and in demand in the present. Such forums allow us to unite and rally young people, give them the opportunity to communicate, exchange experiences, ideas, and build contacts that will serve as a basis for further joint projects. This is an important, good initiative. The meaning embedded in this meeting is profound. It is gratifying that young parliamentarians from Tver responded. I think such forums will become traditional and expand their geography.
The forum program includes a seminar "Youth Parliamentarism – a Form of Implementing Youth Policy," a dialogue platform "School of an Effective Leader," and a meetup "Implementation of Youth Projects." Master classes will also be held for young men "Presidential Sport" with the Hockey Club "Lokomotiv-Orsha" and "Symbols of My Country," where girls will make brooches-flags of the Republic of Belarus.
The forum program will conclude with an excursion to the landmark sites of Kopys – the President's small homeland.
