The I Open Regional Children's Piano Competition "Bach and the 21st Century" will be held in Polotsk

- Vitebsk region has good piano schools. Moreover, March 21 marks the 330th anniversary of Johann Sebastian Bach's birth. We would like to draw attention to this date and support talented children, - explained the project's initiator, Ksenia Pogorelaya, soloist of the Concert Hall of St. Sophia Cathedral.

The children's competition will expand and supplement the program of the XXVIII International Festival of Ancient and Modern Chamber Music, which will begin on March 26. One of its concerts will be performed by a renowned pianist from Weimar, Gerlinde Otto, who has agreed to head the authoritative jury.

The competition winners will be determined in three age categories. The laureates will be awarded at the final concert in St. Sophia Cathedral, where Honored Artist of Belarus Igor Olovnikov will also perform.
