The Polotsk regional forum of young specialists "Youth. Initiative. Development" was held
Previously, the "Master of the Village" competition and the forum of working rural youth were held in the region; now, attention has been drawn to the youth policy of the city-forming enterprise JSC "Polotsk-Steklovolokno", which employs 3900 people, including over 30% under the age of 31.
– If you lose the youth, you lose the future. Therefore, we try not to save on our future, but to constantly invest in it, creating conditions for the development of the potential of young specialists, – said Andrey Kuzmin, Deputy General Director of the enterprise, voicing the management's position.
He explained that the system of support, adaptation, and mentoring yields results: at least 82% of personnel are retained in production, and young people are actively involved in both professional and public activities. One of the flagship projects has been its own factory forum "Youth. Initiative. Development," which has been held for four years.
To demonstrate how it takes place, the hosts invited guests to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the team's life. Participants were able to feel the production power of the largest enterprise in Belarus's chemical complex during an excursion through the factory workshops. Afterward, an open dialogue "Youth of Vitebsk Region. Traditions and Future" was held in a non-standard format.
Instead of lengthy speeches, there were short informal greetings; reports were replaced by engaging presentations; humor, wit, and interactivity were encouraged. For example, the joint performance of the factory's anthem provided unforgettable emotions: after youth leaders Olga Gerashchenko and Alexey Shuranov demonstrated their signature rap performance, the audience and the presidium enthusiastically joined in, repeating the energetic dance moves.
The program continued with training sessions on stress relief, energy boosting, and team building. The creative host, Yulia Kulkina-Trizno, skillfully kept the audience engaged, guiding them towards the set goal. Indeed, by the end of the day, the groups, formed from young people who didn't know each other, had united, bonded, and learned to act together. As a result of their joint creativity, they created wonderful "Friendship Canvases," where they placed symbols of unity, happiness, love, kindness, growth, and development. During the presentation of the artworks, the participants admitted that they had found new friends in Polotsk, gained a boost of energy, and gathered many ideas for future work.
Summing up the forum, Irina Sofeichenko, Deputy Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the regional executive committee, thanked the residents of Polotsk for their warm welcome and excellent organization of the event. She wished the young people to continue to show an active life stance, contributing to the successful socio-economic development of their small homeland and the entire country.
