In Polotsk, a "Conversation about what's important" is taking place, organized by the Council of the Republic and the Belarusian Orthodox Church for Parental Love Week
"A Conversation About What Matters: A Happy Family is a Strong State" - under this title, a meeting of large families from all regions of Belarus is taking place in Polotsk, dedicated to Parental Love Week.
The conversation lasted for two days. Yesterday, participants got acquainted with each other, and also met with the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Natalya Kochanova, and Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavl Veniamin, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. It was they who initiated such a significant event, where one can have a heart-to-heart talk about the most important things - children, love, and the role of the state in protecting family values.
Today, the central venue for the meeting was the Saint Sophia Cathedral. Under the vaults of the temple, married couples, parliamentarians, representatives of state authorities, and clergy gathered. As Natalya Kochanova noted, the tradition of meeting as a large family was born in Polotsk, where the foundations of our spirituality and statehood were laid.
– The current meeting is not just a festive event. It is an opportunity to connect with spiritual and moral roots, to continue the dialogue based on creation, unity, and harmony, to discuss pressing issues, and to jointly develop ways to preserve fundamental family values and the inviolability of our society, – emphasized the speaker.
Taking the opportunity, Natalya Kochanova congratulated the clergy on the 35th anniversary of the Belarusian Exarchate.
– Our joint efforts are aimed at caring for people, preserving traditional family values, the spiritual and moral education of society, and preserving the foundations of Belarusian statehood, – said Natalya Kochanova.
