In Polotsk, the body of a newborn baby was found in a dumpster

In the evening of May 31, the body of a newborn boy was found in a dumpster near a residential building in Polotsk. During expert examinations, it was established that the child was born alive.

The Polotsk inter-district department of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Article 140 of the Criminal Code - "Murder of a newborn child by the mother." The priority task for investigators and operational officers is to locate the mother and establish the exact cause of the baby's death.

"A number of forensic examinations have been appointed, residents of neighboring houses have been interviewed, and all necessary initial investigative actions have been carried out. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing," reported Inna Gorbacheva, the official representative of the USK for the Vitebsk region.
