A new contingent has arrived at the Polotsk Border Detachment.
As reported by the official representative of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Glebko, a training center has been established to train future border guards. For a period of one and a half months, young men drafted from the Vitebsk and Gomel regions will undergo a basic military training course. The youths will acquire skills necessary for border guard duty, study drill regulations, general military statutes, master small arms handling skills, and learn hand-to-hand combat techniques.
Upon completion of training and passing final exams, the recruits will receive the specialty of "border guard inspector" and will be sent to serve on the border. Some of them will be sent to training units of the border guard service to further their education and obtain various specialties – a dog handler, an engineering specialist, a cook, and a driver of categories C and D.
