Belarus has gasified its thousandth agro-town. Natural gas has arrived in Goryany, Polotsk district
In Goryany, Polotsk district, a ceremonial launch of natural gas took place yesterday. This is the thousandth agro-town in the country where blue fuel has arrived. On the occasion of this important event, a symbolic torch was lit here.
Alexey Kushnarenko, General Director of Beltopgaz, came to congratulate the villagers:
— Natural gasification is proceeding in the country in accordance with the program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment". Gasification always increases the attractiveness of the territory, creates new opportunities for residents, the agro-complex, and entrepreneurs. More than 700 people live in Goryany, 100 apartments have already been converted to natural gas, and owners of about 400 individual residential buildings will have this opportunity later.
The length of the gas pipeline is almost 9 kilometers. The cost of design and construction is 1 million 160 thousand rubles. Construction of the facility began in August, and now everything is working. According to Alexander Koltunov, Director of the Goryany agricultural branch of OAO Polotsk Grain Processing Plant, the gas pipeline branch has also reached a military warehouse, and nearby there is a place where a grain dryer can be built in the future. New Goryany is located literally across the road from Goryany, so the celebration yesterday was for the residents of two settlements at once.
With the arrival of gas, life becomes more comfortable. And this is already an important condition for the development of the production sphere, private initiative, and the settlement itself. Nikolai Sherstnev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, said that gas is supplied to settlements not by chance:
— We initially understand the prospects of the settlement. And if we are laying gas, it is primarily related to the development of the village. Goryany is a promising agro-town, the social sphere is developed here, now agricultural production needs to be modernized here, jobs need to be created, and the population should grow. I don't even mention the conveniences that come with blue fuel for both the producer and the residents.
Now gas has been supplied to all districts of the Vitebsk region. Gasification of settlements is planned for 2020пунктов в Витебском, Толочинском, Оршанском и Верхнедвинском районах.
