A berry festival 'Blueberry-2013' will be held in the Polotsk district

On July 20, 2013, the 3rd berry festival "Chernika-2013" will be held in the agro-town of Zaozerye, Polotsk district. Blueberry picking will take place from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the territories of Gomelsky, Voronichsky, and Zaozersky rural councils. Traditional championships and festivals for berry and mushroom picking are a hallmark of the Polotsk district.

On July 20, 2013, the 3rd berry festival "Chernika-2013" will be held in the agro-town of Zaozerye, Polotsk district. Blueberry picking will take place from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the territories of Gomelsky, Voronichsky, and Zaozersky rural councils.

Traditional championships and festivals for berry and mushroom picking are a hallmark of the Polotsk district. 120 teams of 4 people each will take part in the berry festival: 17 from rural councils, 40 from the education department, 35 from enterprises of Polotsk city and district, and 35 from public associations of the city and district. This is 50 teams more than in the previous year.

The ranks of blueberry pickers can be joined for speed until the teams are scheduled to start – at 7 AM.

The Zaozerye region is famous for its rich forest gifts and picturesque places. The organizers of the "Chernika-2013" festival are confident that there will be enough berries for everyone!

After noon, the jury will determine the winners, who will be awarded prizes. For participants, fans, and guests of the berry festival, there will be fun games, a concert, a master class on making amulets, exhibitions, a photo contest "The Amazing World of Nature Through the Lens," and extensive trade in food and souvenir products.

The "Chernika-2013" berry festival is not only an interesting competition but also widely promotes an active and healthy lifestyle.
