On the eve of the Day of National Unity, Dmitry Demidov met with the staff of UP "Vitebskoblgaz"
– For 85 years now, we have been united territorially and spiritually, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies. – And no one has the right to say that someone other than ourselves decides the fate of our Motherland.
Dmitry Demidov made a brief excursion into history. In accessible language, he highlighted the political background of the events that took place before 1939 – the year of the reunification of the Belarusian people.
– Today, in the context of a full-scale hybrid war waged against us, our country is selflessly defending historical memory and truth. We will never be indifferent to attempts to justify the bloody raids of militants and the murder of civilians, to desecrate the memory of our compatriots, – said the speaker. – We must remember the grief of our ancestors, the joy of the liberators and the liberated, the betrayal of scoundrels, and the triumph of justice.
The territorial integrity of the Republic of Belarus, the unity of our people, is based on the fateful historical decisions made 85 years ago, emphasized the head of the Vitebsk region's deputy corps. The construction of a truly socially oriented state is possible only in a consolidated society. In the 21st century, we have not been broken by the pandemic, nor by the attempt to organize a color revolution, nor by the predatory sanctions of the collective West. We have not been broken because we have always been and remain together. Truth is on our side, and we are ready to live by our own minds and labor – that is why for us, the Day of National Unity is a symbol of solidarity, patriotism, and the strength of the nation.
