As part of the forum of regions of Belarus and Russia, Vitebskiye Vesti signed an agreement with colleagues from the Pskov region
Objectivity, truth, and creation. These words became the leitmotif during the work of the section "Media as a Significant Factor of Interregional Interaction, Formation of a Common Information Space of Humanitarian Values" of the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia on June 7 at the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University. The forum section brought together representatives of government bodies, public organizations, and regional media from both countries – about 200 people in total.
Today, as the participants of the meeting asserted, not only the creative work carried out at the highest state level is important, but also interaction at the local level. Our achievements, priorities of socio-economic cooperation, and the problems of ordinary people, reflected in newspaper publications and television reports by regional journalists, arouse keen interest in society. Therefore, regional mass media play a special role in the processes of Belarusian-Russian integration.
“We are not given to predict how our word will echo” – the phrase of the poet Fyodor Tyutchev has become a classic. Is this true? To predict for sure is impossible. But to foresee the consequences with a sufficient degree of probability is necessary. For example, if someone shouts in the forest, they will most likely hear an echo. If they shout in places prone to avalanches, they are hardly acting wisely.
Every word in our time has weight and significance. New technologies spread information very quickly, which can be creative or mislead people. Therefore, it is so important to call truth truth, and to resist the distortion of reality, stated the Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus, Lilia Ananich, addressing the forum participants. It is no secret that sometimes not only on the internet, but also in newspapers and on television, information about irreconcilable contradictions in the relations between our countries is disseminated.
Cooperation, despite individual "noise interference," not only continues but also reaches a new level. Agreements in the information and print spheres have been concluded and are being implemented earlier.
in the spheres of regional media of Belarus with Moscow, St. Petersburg and Smolensk, the Republic of Tatarstan, Bryansk, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Ulyanovsk regions. On June 7, an agreement on interaction and information exchange was signed at the forum between the editorial offices of the newspapers "Vitebskiye Vesti", "Minskaya Pravda" and "Pskovskaya Pravda", as well as "Gomelskaya Pravda" and "Bryansky Rabochy".There is no doubt that regional media of the two countries will work to strengthen friendship and cooperation between peoples, the development of the Union State on the principles of objectivity, truth and creation.
