An infectious diseases department of the central district hospital has been opened in Rossony
The infectious diseases department of the Rossony Central District Hospital was commissioned today after major repairs and modernization.
The facility was a people's construction project, which arose in support of the regional leadership's plans for hospital modernization. The opening ceremony of the department was attended by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev, the Chairman of the Rossony District Executive Committee Alexander Shubsky, and the Head of the Healthcare Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Yuri Derkach.
This year, the main building of the hospital underwent modernization – about Br200 million were allocated from the budget for these purposes. However, on the initiative of the Chairman of the Rossony District Executive Committee, it was possible to complete the reconstruction of the infectious diseases department as well. The head of the district proposed to allocate funds earned from the district субботник (voluntary work day) for major repairs. Labor collectives raised about Br200 million – these funds were used to purchase the necessary materials, furniture, etc. Employees of the housing and communal services, Rossony PMK-63, Rossony PMS, Rossony Forestry and others performed repair work free of charge. Representatives of labor collectives of the district center organizations also took an active part in landscaping the adjacent territory.
Taking into account the initiative shown by the district, an additional Br500 million was allocated from the regional budget for the continuation of modernization work on the main building and major repairs of the infectious diseases department of the Central District Hospital. The reconstruction of the healthcare institution began in 2010.
During this period, the pediatric and surgical departments, as well as the intensive care unit, have been renovated. The hospital is equipped with new equipment. With the opening of the updated infectious diseases department, the Central District Hospital can provide the full range of quality primary healthcare services. In addition to the modernized department, a chapel has also been put into operation on the hospital grounds today, and renovation and modernization work at the hospital is ongoing. The healthcare institution "Rassonskaya Central District Hospital" includes: a central hospital with 84 beds, a district polyclinic (with an outpatient day hospital for 25 beds), Klyastitskaya and Krasnopolskaya medical outpatient clinics, the Zaborye nursing care hospital with 10 beds, and 9 FAPs (Feldsher-midwife stations). In the Rassonsky district (the smallest in the Vitebsk region by population - about 9,800 people), there are about 30 doctors and 114 mid-level healthcare professionals working.
