In the Senno district, during the Year of Quality, the home study space of all schoolchildren was checked

February 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The "Student's Workplace" campaign is being held for the first time in the Senno district, the head of the ideological work department of the Senno district executive committee, Sergey Metelitsa, told a BELTA correspondent. Specially created commissions, which included teachers, specialists from rural executive committees, activists of public organizations, trade unions, and work collectives, inspected the home study corner of all schoolchildren in the district from the 1st to the 11th grades. Commission members visited about 2.8 thousand students and personally checked how parents equipped their children with a study place. For example, it was found that 921 children have a separate room at their disposal, and 1.8 thousand children have an equipped place for doing homework. At the same time, 236 students do not have desk lamps, 45 do not have separate desks, and 9 schoolchildren do not have bookshelves. During the second stage of the campaign, local officials appealed to the heads of organizations, agricultural production cooperatives, housing and communal services, rural executive committees, and schools to help improve the study place of children who need it and whose parents cannot solve the problem on their own due to a lack of financial resources. "Many have already responded to this call. For example, in labor classes at several schools, teachers together with students are already working on making the same school shelves and racks," the source noted. In addition, some parents have heeded the advice of commission members and purchased desk lamps and other necessary furniture for their children. The campaign is timed to coincide with the Year of Quality. "After all, not only the learning process and the study place at school should be of high quality, but also at home, where students spend several hours daily on homework," emphasized Sergey Metelitsa. He also added that in April-May, an additional survey will be organized for families where the study place was in unsatisfactory condition. In the future, the campaign is planned to be held annually. The organizer of the campaign is the Senno District Executive Committee. -0-
