A large grain drying complex with a grain and seed preparation line has been opened in Senno
The project was implemented by Terra Nostra LLC (which, by the way, translates from Latin as "Our Land") and is included in the list of promising and significant investment projects within the framework of the State Program "Agrarian Business". The complex allows for the drying of 65 thousand tons of seeds and seed cleaning of 40 thousand tons per year. The production capacities will be used both for internal needs and for providing services. Fifteen new jobs have been created at the initial stage.
Terra Nostra was founded in 2019 in the Beshenkovichi District. A year later, the Terra Gratia farm enterprise was established in the Senno District as a logical continuation of the company. This allowed for a threefold increase in cultivated areas. Currently, 15 crops are grown on the farm's fields, each with 2-5 varieties.
The farm enterprise specializes in the production of high-quality seeds for sale in Belarus and abroad, and provides assistance in land cultivation, harvesting, and logistics. The total number of employees is 80-105 people, depending on the season. Last year, the gross harvest of agricultural crops amounted to over 26.8 thousand tons. The average yield of winter rapeseed was 25 cwt/ha (maximum 37 cwt/ha), winter wheat – 55.2 cwt/ha (105 cwt/ha), rye – 50 cwt/ha (60 cwt/ha).
At the grand opening of the complex, the head of Terra Nostra LLC, Oleg Pipchenko, thanked the team and everyone who helped implement the project. He noted the active position of the authorities and the qualified support of Belagroprombank, which became one of the key factors in the creation of the complex.
– The launch of the grain complex will significantly change the structure of the company's product portfolio, increasing the share of high-margin seed products, operational efficiency, and also create new jobs, – noted Oleg Zhingel, member of the Council of the Republic, head of the regional directorate for the Vitebsk region of Belagroprombank.
In a conversation with journalists, the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, noted that this is a unique complex not only for our country but also for Russia. Terra Nostra came to not the best lands, even by the standards of the Vitebsk region, and is producing outstanding results.
According to the first deputy chairman of the Senno regional executive committee, Andrey Lebedev, about 10 thousand hectares of land from the bankrupt regional agroservice were transferred to the peasant farm. Last year, out of 53 thousand tons of gross grain and leguminous harvest in the region, almost a fifth fell on Terra Gratia.
