In the northern regions of Belarus, aviation and all-terrain vehicles will be used for fertilizer application
March 25, Minsk / Tamara Dovgalyuk - BELTA /. Aviation and all-terrain vehicles will be used for fertilizer application in the northern regions of Belarus. This was announced today to journalists by the Director of RUP "Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry" Vitaly Lapa, BELTA correspondent reports.
"In Verkhnedvinsk, Miory, Sharkovshchina, where heavy soils prevail and conventional machinery cannot move, aviation and all-terrain vehicles will be used," said Vitaly Lapa.
In addition, the institute has developed new forms of macro- and microfertilizers with a balanced ratio of nutrients for specific crop groups. These fertilizers are already being produced by the Gomel Chemical Plant. To date, the plant has produced about 8 thousand tons of such fertilizers for sugar beet, and has also begun producing complex nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizers for growing flax. Their advantage is that they provide balanced plant nutrition and reduce the application of individual fertilizers by 60%.
Speaking about other institute projects, Vitaly Lapa said that new forms of liquid chelated microfertilizers were developed last year. "Until now, fertilizers based on chemical salts have been used in Belarus, but this is already a thing of the past," the scientist noted. Previously, these fertilizers were purchased in Europe, mainly in Poland. This year, about 3 thousand tons of domestically produced liquid chelated microfertilizers will be applied to fields in Belarus.
Criteria for soil suitability for growing certain crops have been developed. In particular, the institute has developed criteria for assessing soil suitability for growing flax, as well as soil suitability maps for each region of Belarus. -0-
