Approximately 867,000 citizens are included in the voter lists for voting in the Vitebsk region

To the voter lists for the elections of deputies of local Councils in the Vitebsk region, about 867 thousand citizens have been included, BELTA was informed by the regional election commission.

Since February 2, these lists have been available for review in the premises of precinct election commissions. Everyone can check if they are included in the list and if their information is correctly indicated. The voter lists include citizens of the Republic of Belarus who have the right to vote, have reached the age of 18 by election day, and are registered at their place of residence or stay within the territory of this polling station. Unlike the parliamentary election campaign, citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing in Belarus participate in the elections of deputies of local Councils. They are also included in the voter lists.

If for any reason a voter does not find themselves on the list, they are additionally included in it by the precinct commission upon presentation of a passport and a document confirming registration at their place of residence or stay within the territory of this polling station.

Lists at polling stations formed in sanatoriums, rest homes, hospitals, and other stationary medical institutions will be available for review from February 15. Compared to the 2016 parliamentary election campaign, the number of voters in the Vitebsk region has decreased by approximately 7 thousand people.

Elections of deputies of local Councils will be held in Belarus on February 18, 2018.
