In connection with the coronavirus, disinfection measures have been strengthened at Belarusian Railways and on public transport in the Vitebsk region

To prevent the spread of coronavirus, public transport workers and railway workers of the Vitebsk region are taking active sanitary and epidemiological safety measures.

As reported by Sergey Zalessky, First Deputy General Director of "Vitebskoblavtotrans", bus, tram, and trolleybus interiors undergo thorough washing with disinfectants upon returning from their routes. In addition, during operation on the route, parts of the interior that passengers come into contact with most actively are additionally treated three times per shift.

An enhanced disinfection regime has also been introduced on the Belarusian Railway. The situation is monitored by a specially created operational headquarters. Wet cleaning is carried out much more frequently at stations and on trains, and interiors and vestibules are treated with a disinfectant solution. Dispensers with hand sanitizer are installed everywhere. In case a passenger with symptoms of acute respiratory viral infection is detected during the train's journey, special evacuation measures are provided.
