In the territorial election commissions of the Vitebsk region, women are in the majority
The formation of election commissions is nearing completion. Yesterday, the nomination of representatives to the district election commissions for the regional Council elections concluded, with three days allocated for their establishment. The most numerous commissions – precinct commissions – must be formed by February 6. And on the eve of the New Year, the personal composition of all 224 territorial election commissions was determined, where women will primarily work (their share exceeded 80%).
According to official data, a total of 1790 people were included in the commissions, or 98.5% of the applicants. Citizens showed the greatest activity at this stage (805 commission members, or almost 45%, were included through their applications) and public associations (728 members, or 40.6%). The share of representatives from work collectives in territorial election commissions exceeded 14% (257 people).
To date, the activity of political parties is barely noticeable. In total, 17 people, or about 1%, joined the commissions from them, including 13 members of the Communist Party of Belarus. As for public associations, the largest number of representatives included in the commissions are from the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (359 people, or more than 20% of the total number), the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans (101, or 5.6%), the Belarusian Women's Union (87, or 4.9%), the BRSM (70, or 3.9%), and the public association "Belaya Rus" (61, or 3.4%).
We remind you that during the elections on March 23, voters in the Vitebsk region will have to determine the holders of 3218 deputy mandates and form the regional council, 21 district councils, 5 city councils in cities of regional and district subordination, and 197 rural and settlement councils.
