Tolochna will feature a 12-meter tower clock with Belarusian symbolism

Every Thursday, for the residents of the Tolochin district, with the arrival of warm spring days, it is clean. The tradition of going out and tidying up their territories weekly has been maintained here for the past few years. Moreover, the "route map" of Thursdays and clean-up days includes not only the district center but also all rural settlements.

– We are pruning bushes, sweeping, painting, whitewashing, raking, etc. – the scope of work is extensive, – notes Mikhail Gavrichenko, Deputy Chairman of the Tolochin District Executive Committee. – This applies not only to streets, yards, sidewalks, but also to cemeteries, memorial sites, parks, and squares. Speaking of roads, with the launch of asphalt plants by DRSU-147 and DSU-63, we have started asphalt paving a 1600-meter section of road in the settlement of Slaveni. In May, we plan to asphalt 1500 meters in the village of Glinniki, as well as begin gravel-sand mixture surfacing of 2800 meters in the direction of Krugloye – Slaveni. The construction of two new sidewalks on Traktornaya Street and Volodarskogo Street in Tolochin is also planned, as well as asphalt paving of road sections on Ostrovskogo Street and Kommunalnaya Street. Special attention is paid to roads and sidewalks in the village of Kokhanovo.

We remind you that this settlement is under special control. It is being given a second life in accordance with the program for the development of small settlements. The work planned for the current year is already underway.

A number of facilities in both the social sphere and the residential sector will undergo certain transformations. Repairs are planned for kindergartens, a school, a socio-pedagogical center, a hospital, and a children's art school. Facades of apartment buildings, administrative buildings, and commercial facilities will be renovated, as well as courtyard areas. In addition, modernization of water supply networks on Zaslonov and Smolianskaya streets, reconstruction of power transmission lines, repair of road surfaces, and improvement of courtyard areas with the installation of a children's playground, among other works, will be carried out. DRSU-147 is completing the reconstruction of the emergency bridge over the Sokolyanka River on Orshanskaya Street. All three massive spans of the structure have been laid and secured on reliable supports. Concreting of pedestrian crossings and the bridge roadway, as well as the corresponding railings, is being completed, and access roads are being equipped on both sides.

Large-scale transformations are also underway in the district center itself – the city will celebrate its 590th anniversary this year. In addition to being adorned with additional banners and new small architectural forms, the central city park will receive a completely new look.

Here, on the site of the old playground, the dismantling of which is already in progress, a modern children's town will be created using funds from district subbotniks. It will be a complex with carousel swings, slides, rope ladders, monkey bars, sandboxes, a recreation area, etc. All safety measures, including video surveillance, will be provided. The sports ground will also be expanded. In addition to a workout zone, outdoor exercise equipment will be installed here.

A real gift for the residents of Tolochin at the entrance to the park will be a tower clock nearly 12 meters high. Its four-sided upper part has already arrived in Tolochin. The weather vane will be interchangeable, and the clock faces on all sides will be illuminated. The tower itself, with the symbolism of our country, is still under manufacturing. The new landmark will be installed in place of the memorial stone. The boulder will be moved to the other side of the entrance arch.
