В Толочинском районе по горячим следам раскрыто разбойное нападение

In the Tolochin district, a robbery attack was solved hot on the heels, the official representative of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk region, Inna Gorbacheva, told a BELTA correspondent. On the evening of November 4, two unknown men entered the unlocked house of an 82-year-old pensioner in the village of Bukarevo and, hitting him on the head with garden shears, tried to find and steal money. The unexpected active resistance of the elderly man forced the attackers to flee, and the pensioner reported the attack to law enforcement agencies half an hour after the incident. The criminals were identified within 24 hours.

The attackers turned out to be an unemployed fellow villager born in 1996 and a resident of a nearby village born in 1976. "Currently, the men have been detained and are giving confessions. They have already told investigators that they had planned the attack in advance, as they knew that the pensioner kept his received pension at home. The suspects planned to spend the stolen money on alcohol," said Inna Gorbacheva. The Tolochin District Department of the Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 207 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of six to fifteen years with confiscation of property. A number of forensic examinations have already been appointed in the criminal case.
