A fire station has opened in Verkhnedvinsk after reconstruction

В Верхнедвинске после реконструкции открылась пожарная часть
A wonderful New Year's gift not only for the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but also for all residents of Verkhnedvinsk was the opening in the last days of December, after the reconstruction of Fire Rescue Station No. 1 of the district emergency situations department.

The conditions created for the training and drills of rescuers, as well as for the accommodation of personnel and equipment, will allow us to take even better care of the safety of citizens, emphasized the Minister for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Vashchenko, who arrived in the district center for the ceremony.

— On the eve of the New Year, thanks to the support of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Regional Council of Deputies, the leadership of the Verkhnedvinsk district, and the meticulous work of the builders, we received such a wonderful gift. I think it will not only serve to increase the efficiency of the tasks facing us, improve work in the area of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, but also adorn the city of Verkhnedvinsk, — said Vladimir Alexandrovich.

The honorable right to cut the red ribbon was granted to Vladimir Vashchenko, as well as to the chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev and the head of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Klobuk. They were the first to cross the threshold of the renovated facility, after which an excursion was conducted for everyone who wished.

The reconstruction of the station (including the design stage) has been underway since November 2015. During this time, more than 758 thousand rubles were spent. Of these, over 477 thousand were allocated from the regional budget, about 279.6 thousand from the off-budget centralized investment fund of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Also, part of the money came from the off-budget funds of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The general contractor for the work was the Orsha private unitary enterprise "KomGrupVlad".

In a year, Fire Rescue Station No. 1 of Verkhnedvinsk has fundamentally

transformed. The former structures did not look their best, and their size did not allow for the placement of modern equipment, explained the head of the Emergency Rescue Department, Vladimir Krishtalevich. After the reconstruction, the bays became much more spacious, so now there is enough space for all vehicles, including a new fire tanker with a capacity of 10 tons of extinguishing agent, which was put on the balance of local rescuers a few days ago. In addition, the sanitary and living conditions for the personnel have improved.

Now the rescuers have comfortable warm rooms at their disposal, including cozy rooms for rest and meals. This is important when people have to be on duty for a day. In addition, the renovated buildings have a special training room where classes can be held with children, teaching them the rules of safe behavior. Young rescuers told and showed the Minister of Emergency Situations how they will now help children master important knowledge.

— Over the past three years, this is already the fourth such facility that has been commissioned in the Vitebsk region, — noted **Vladimir Terentyev**. — It has become a good tradition to open renovated Emergency Rescue Department buildings during the "Dazhynki" festival. Such facilities have already been commissioned in Gorodok, Tolochin, Senno. We are not stopping at what has been achieved; today, at the expense of the regional administration, design and estimate documentation is being prepared for Ushachi, where part of the facility also needs to be put in order.

Speaking to the rescuers and their guests, the chairman of the regional council of deputies recalled that in the past year, not a single person died in a fire in the district. Vladimir Vladimirovich expressed the wish that such positive statistics would continue in the future throughout the Vitebsk region and the republic as a whole.
