This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press secretary of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Marina Fando. The flooding of residential buildings and household plots has mainly been recorded directly in the district center and the village of Borovka. In addition, in recent days, a section of the road leading to the Lunacharskoye psycho-neurological boarding school for the elderly and disabled has been flooded. Employees of the social institution have to get to work by boat. Units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, including the diving service of the Vityaz rescue squad, are directly in the flood zone, providing necessary assistance to the victims and monitoring the development of the flood situation. These days, the Western Dvina River is experiencing the maximum level of spring flood, and in the Verkhnedvinsk district, the dangerous water level has already been exceeded by 180 cm, noted Marina Fando. As of the morning of April 5, the dangerous water level in the Western Dvina basin has also been exceeded in the Polotsk district by 2 cm. At the same time, a drop in water levels of 5-13 cm is observed on the tributaries of the Western Dvina, and a decrease is also observed on the Drissa, Obol, and Disna rivers in the Sharkovshchina urban settlement area. -0-
