In Vitebsk, a parade of Father Frosts and a concert near the main Christmas tree will be held on December 23
The city-wide event "Let's Light the Christmas Tree Together!" and the festive procession of Father Frosts and Snow Maidens will traditionally take place in Vitebsk on the eve of Christmas and New Year.
On December 23, 500 pairs of Father Frosts and Snow Maidens – the main characters of winter celebrations, as well as 850 fairy-tale characters with an orchestra, will set off along the festive route along Lenin Street (from the "Marko" shopping center) towards Victory Square. Even if there is no snow and no frost, Mother Winter will be represented in all her calendar guises. Characters of December, January, and February will arrive at the central venue of the New Year's Eve event with a horse procession. In addition, citizens will be able to watch and greet this unusual, bright parade on December 23 starting at 18:50, when the costume procession begins.
And at 19:00, the "Let's Light the Christmas Tree Together!" event will start on Victory Square – the illumination on the fir branches of the forest giant promises to be mesmerizing, as always.
Here, for guests and residents of the city, until 20:00, a theatrical performance, concert and dance programs, and games will be organized.
On the same day, along with the main Christmas tree on Victory Square, beautifully decorated green beauties will shine in the microdistricts of the regional center.
Due to the procession of Father Frosts and Snow Maidens, on December 23 from 18:30 to 19:30, vehicle traffic will be closed on Lenin Street (section from Freedom Square to Victory Square). Vehicle traffic will also be restricted on Kalinin Street and Pravda Street in the sections from B. Khmelnitsky Street to Kalinin Street; on Zhestkova Street in the section from B. Khmelnitsky Street to Lenin Street.
