In Vitebsk, a private company has purchased the administrative building of OJSC "KIM" and will create a business center
The building became the last real estate object on the balance sheet of the bankrupt enterprise. The remaining unsold property has been transferred to communal ownership. The money raised from the sale of the building will be used to pay off the accounts payable of JSC "KIM", added Mikhail Ivchenko.
According to Viktor Velyuga, director of UP "MegaEurotex", plans are underway to reconstruct and modernize the facility into a multifunctional business center. The building, with a total area of almost 4.2 thousand sq.m., will house a complex of administrative premises, which will subsequently be leased out for offices or company representative offices. It is also planned to attract service sector enterprises to the center.
The lot included the administrative building, including the basement floor, annex, cellar, vestibule, fences, and gates, as well as shares in the ownership of utility infrastructure facilities. One buyer showed interest in the real estate, valued at approximately Br334 thousand, and agreed to purchase it at the starting price increased by 5%.
In addition, "MegaEurotex" is considering the possibility of reconstructing the adjacent former canteen of JSC "KIM", previously purchased, into a production facility also for subsequent lease. The pair of buildings will form a single office and production complex for the development company.
The sock and knitwear factory "KIM" ("Communist International of Youth", later "Classics of Fashion Industry") was founded in 1931. In 1996, Vitebsk JSC "KIM" was established on the basis of the enterprise's property complex. The decision to declare the joint-stock company bankrupt and open liquidation proceedings was made in August 2015 and has been repeatedly extended. A session of the Vitebsk Regional Economic Court on the results of the liquidation proceedings is scheduled for December 12, 2019.
