Vitebsk honored the best workers of the communal services sector
On the eve of their professional holiday, the best employees of the public utilities sector were honored in a solemn ceremony at the Vitebsk Concert Hall.
Plumbers, tractor drivers, stokers, comprehensive cleaning workers, "green construction" specialists… It is they who create coziness and comfort in our homes, improve our cities, and maintain order on holidays and weekdays, regardless of the weather. The fruits of their labor are the main component of the urban way of life to which we are accustomed.
The housing and communal services workers were first congratulated by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin.
– The housing and communal services sector is one of the most important and relevant in the world; the work of the entire state system is judged by it. Sometimes we don't think about how difficult and expensive it is to provide heat, hot and cold water supply in our homes, and to create cleanliness and order around. Your work is always in plain sight. Every resident of the region evaluates it every minute. In 2022, the region's housing and communal services sector ensured the fulfillment of all target indicators of the State Program "Comfortable Housing and a Favorable Environment" for 2021–2025. The commissioning of total area after major repairs amounted to over 490 thousand square meters, which is the highest indicator among the regions in the republic. The share of local types of fuel in the fuel balance of subordinate enterprises was 73.3% – this is the highest indicator in the republic, – emphasized Alexander Subbotin.
The 16,000-strong army of public utility workers was congratulated by Yuri Dyadyolo, Head of the Main Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Regional Executive Committee, who noted that the enterprises of the region's housing and communal services sector have been operating stably for several years.
The Chairman of the City Executive Committee, Nikolai Orlov, addressed the gathered workers and veterans of the housing and communal services sector with words of gratitude for their round-the-clock duty, ensuring the safety and operational reliability of the housing stock, the uninterrupted functioning of the communal services, and for their work on the improvement of cities and villages. For conscientious and long-term work, the best employees were awarded with Certificates of Honor and Gratitude.

As part of the implementation of plans for the procurement of domestic machinery and equipment by public utility enterprises, 84 units of specialized utility machinery and related equipment were purchased in 2022.
