Vitebsk honored the best women of the region
March 4, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. In Vitebsk today, the best women of the region were honored. A festive reception with the participation of 33 residents of the region was held at the regional executive committee, reports a BELTA correspondent.
As noted by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, women make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, are heads of enterprises and organizations, and active public figures. This is evidenced by the fact that according to the results of 2009, out of one hundred nominees awarded the honorary title "Person of the Year of the Vitebsk Region", 40 were representatives of the fair sex.
At all times, the main purpose of a woman was to raise and educate children. "This is the most difficult profession in the world, and the state is doing everything necessary to improve social conditions to make women's lives as easy as possible," the governor emphasized. In the Vitebsk region, with this goal, it is planned to complete the reconstruction of the regional infectious disease and children's hospital, maternity departments, and children's polyclinics this year. In addition, local authorities have undertaken increased commitments for housing construction and the fulfillment of forecast indicators for 2010.
On the eve of International Women's Day, festive events were held in all regions of the Vitebsk region. Thus, thematic exhibitions were organized by libraries. On March 5, the Vitebsk Regional Museum will open an exhibition of works by Olga Anufrieva "Reflection of the Soul", and the Art Museum will host an exhibition "My Precious Woman", prepared by artists from the regional center.
