In Vitebsk, mothers who gave birth on the Day of National Unity were honored

On a landmark day for the country, four boys were born here. In total, 19 babies were born in the Vitebsk region on September 17.

Young mothers and newborns received guests from the regional executive committee and the Belarusian Women's Union.

– I want to congratulate the women who became mothers on September 17 and present them with small memorable gifts. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff of this institution who bring joy and the opportunity to become happy to a large number of people, – noted the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, adding that it is impossible to be gloomy and not smile in this special place.

He presented the mothers with hygiene kits and "I am a happy baby" albums.

– Becoming a mother is the greatest happiness for every woman. When you hear the ringing laughter of your child, you realize that life goes on. I want to wish that all the children of our country understand that they are growing up in a free, peaceful and prosperous Republic of Belarus, – said the Chairperson of the regional organization of the Belarusian Women's Union Marina Novitskaya, sharing that this is a touching moment for her, as she once gave birth to her daughter in this maternity hospital.

From the BWS, the young mothers received umbrellas and aprons as gifts.

The chief physician of the regional clinical maternity hospital, Elena Leonovich, reported that since the beginning of the year, about 5,000 children have been born in the region. For many years, there has been no infant or maternal mortality in the healthcare institution.

The event was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov and Head of the Main Department of Healthcare Mikhail Vishnevetsky.
