In Vitebsk, representatives from various fields of activity who made a personal contribution to the preparation and holding of significant cultural and business events were honored
– This year, we decided to present awards in a symbolic place related to both the festival and the history of Vitebsk – the restored tower of the former castle, which enhanced the military, political, and administrative status of the medieval city. We wanted everyone to feel pride in the regional center, the country, and the solemnity and beauty of this event, – emphasized the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin.
The head of the region also noted that the work of the people receiving well-deserved awards, while seemingly invisible, largely determines the city's image and the perception of people who visit us and find themselves in a colorful festive atmosphere.
Honorary diplomas of the Regional Executive Committee and letters of appreciation from the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee were awarded to representatives of the housing and communal services, trade, public catering, healthcare, tourism, sports, and culture sectors. Among the awardees is Tatyana Arkhipova, a worker from Vitebsk Zelensstroy. This year, about a million flowers were planted in the festival city. Tatyana Matveevna has been decorating the regional center for almost 25 years, each time bringing new colors to the floral palette.
– We want our Vitebsk to be a joy for both residents and visitors. After all, it is customary to greet guests with flowers, – shared Tatyana Arkhipova.
Svetlana Astanina, Head of the Tourism and Sports and Health Improvement Work Sector of the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Regional Executive Committee, who was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Regional Executive Committee, is also responsible for the impression of guests.
– This year, guests from 16 countries visited the "Slavianski Bazaar". We try to showcase our attractions, conduct excursions, and invite people to visit museums. In crowded places, we set up temporary information tourist centers where visitors can find out where to go, what to see, where to eat, and what souvenir to take home, – said Svetlana Astanina.
The Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus also established its own awards. A letter of gratitude from the Head of the Administration was announced to Irina Gvozdeva, Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Rossony District Executive Committee, and Irina Tarasova, Chief Specialist of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee. And an Honorary Diploma of the Administration of the President was awarded to Viktor Glushin, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.
– To this day, residents and guests of Vitebsk thank us for the past "Slavianski Bazaar", noting that it turned out to be extraordinary, atmospheric, and interesting. And the fact that the Days of the Pskov Region in the Vitebsk region won the Grand Prix of the Russian Event Awards for event tourism speaks for itself. It is pleasant to be proud of the work done. This is the merit not only of those who received awards today, but also of everyone who works at their workplace and makes the city more beautiful, cozier, and more hospitable, – said Viktor Glushin.
The Deputy Chairman of the City Executive Committee also added that the next year will be rich in events and significant dates. These include the election campaign, the anniversary of Vitebsk, the forum of regions, and the traditional "Slavianski Bazaar". This means that there is a lot of work ahead, and it will be done with dignity.
