In Vitebsk, foresters of the region were honored
The "Vitebsk" Concert Hall had not been so immersed in the green of ceremonial uniforms as at the festive event for the foresters of the Vitebsk region. Employees from all forestry enterprises of the region came to the northern capital to congratulate their colleagues and receive well-deserved awards for their hard work.
The event opened with the anthem of the forestry industry, accompanied by an inspiring video showcasing the region's forestry workers, their children, and our stunning nature. And then, congratulations poured in like from a cornucopia.
– Can the current forestry be compared to what it was 85 years ago? Thanks to the labor of generations, today the natural resource not only brings money to the republic but also creates and expands our forest and hunting grounds, which are growing every year, – Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Nikolai Sherstnev addressed the attendees. – Today, you are an industry that can be taken as an example. In my 7 years of work, I have not heard anything negative about you from the government and the Presidential Administration, only good things. Thanks to your labor, strength, and patience, the Vitebsk region and the entire country are becoming more beautiful, and we are proud of it.
Amidst thunderous applause from the hall, the head of the region awarded two foresters with Certificates of Honor from the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
As noted in his congratulatory speech, Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev, for many people, a walk in the forest is an opportunity to breathe fresh air, hunt, gather berries, mushrooms, or simply relax, but for foresters, it is constant work on growing the forest, restoring it; it is their life.
– How often do we underestimate the volumes you work with, given that 40% of Belarus's territory is covered by forests, which is almost 10 million hectares. There is one hectare per resident of our country, meaning you and your colleagues from other regions ensure the protection, reproduction, care for the forest, and much more over a vast territory. This is not office work; it is physically demanding, and you often have to be on your feet from morning till evening. We value your labor and rejoice with you in the successes of forestry, – emphasized Vladimir Vladimirovich. – We see that modern equipment is coming to your aid today, production is developing, and most importantly, the amount of forest is increasing as a result.
Vladimir Terentyev awarded foresters with Certificates of Honor from the regional Council of Deputies. After that, the baton of honoring was taken by the Deputy Minister of Forestry of Belarus, Vladimir Krech, who presented the Vitebsk foresters with Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Forestry.
– The average salary for the first half of the year in the forestry enterprises of the Vitebsk region was 1082 rubles, which is a 25% increase compared to last year. During the same period, revenue increased 1.7 times, and net profit grew 9 times – this is the highest growth rate in the industry. The largest number of forest roads are being built in the Vitebsk region, and active modernization of industrial production is underway, – reported Vladimir Krech. – We have many tasks ahead of us, and I am confident that thanks to your experience and professionalism, we will be able to cope with them. In general, I want to thank you for your stable work this year.
– It is pleasant to hear congratulations and gratitude from colleagues addressed to us for the strenuous work that we are doing together, – said the General Director of Vitebsk State Production Forestry Association Yuri Zablotsky. – This year has been rich in trials by natural elements and not only. It takes just a moment to destroy the work of more than one generation of foresters, but our employees are given strength of character, fortitude, and creative motivation to not flinch in the face of difficulties, to serve with honor, to create and multiply the forest wealth of Belarus. For centuries, the beauty and generosity of the forest has remained an inexhaustible source of well-being and wisdom for us. Special gratitude to the employees of the forestry enterprises for their endurance, understanding, and loyalty to the chosen cause; your conscientious work is the key to the effective performance of the forestry enterprise.
On this day, over 60 foresters of the Vitebsk region received well-deserved awards. Heads of services with whom forestry closely cooperates – trade unions, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and others – also came to congratulate them on the holiday.
