In Vitebsk, labor collectives and workers who made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region were honored
– On this landmark day, we have gathered to say "thank you" on behalf of all residents and guests of the region to each of you who has laid your brick in the wall of glory of our region, – Alexander Subbotin addressed the invited guests in the "Vitebsk" concert hall. – Today, in difficult times, it is important for us to be together, to support and protect each other, to have each other's backs. By being united and cohesive, we can achieve anything!
The head of the region recalled that 2024 was marked by a large number of large-scale events. Among them: the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, whose participants were delighted with our region; the 1050th anniversary of Vitebsk – a magnificent celebration held in many locations, including new ones; the XXXIII International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk", which for the first time in the post-COVID period gathered more participants and guests than before the pandemic; the patriotic forum "30 Years Under the Sign of Quality".
Vitebsk has shown that it rightfully bears the title of the cultural capital of our wonderful Motherland. The residents of the region have demonstrated that in many respects they are ahead of others, setting an example and setting the tone for the entire country in many areas.
Alexander Subbotin presented over 100 awards – certificates of honor from the regional executive committee, letters of gratitude from the chairman of the regional executive committee – to representatives of various sectors: industrial and agricultural, construction and housing and communal services, healthcare and education, transport and tourism, processing and communications.
