In Vitebsk, a girl survived after falling from the 7th floor

May 29, Minsk /BELTA/. A girl survived a fall from the 7th floor in Vitebsk, the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations told a BELTA correspondent. Around 9:20 PM on May 28, a girl born in 2000 fell from the seventh-floor window of a high-rise building on Maxim Gorky Street in Vitebsk. She fell six floors and landed on the visor of an entrance. Ambulance crews arrived at the scene. The medics could not get the fallen girl off the visor on their own. Ministry of Emergency Situations workers carried her down on a stretcher and handed her over to the medics. The victim was urgently taken to the hospital. Fortunately, the girl survived. According to doctors, the girl sustained a traumatic brain injury and open fractures of both tibias. As Oleg Tereshchenko, head of the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs of Vitebsk, told a BELTA correspondent, the twelve-year-old Vitebsk resident attempted suicide in response to her parents' disciplinary measures. The schoolgirl brought a stolen T-shirt from her stay at a sanatorium. The parents learned about the child's misconduct after a call from the health resort. It is unknown what disciplinary measures were taken by them, but the girl, left alone at home, jumped out of the apartment window. Law enforcement agencies are conducting a check on this fact, which may result in the previously considered quite prosperous family being put on record, Oleg Tereshchenko added. -0-
