In Vitebsk, the "Swan Fidelity" ceremony was held for newly married teachers
In Vitebsk, on the eve of Teacher's Day, newlyweds from among the educators were honored with an unusual event - two swans were released into the flood plain of the Vitba River for them, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The "Swan Fidelity" ceremony, initiated by the city authorities, became a wedding gift for Oksana and Alexander Valeha. She works as a chemistry teacher, he is an additional education teacher and a football coach. The young couple admitted that they did not time their wedding date specifically for the professional holiday; fate itself arranged it this way.
At the monument to A.S. Pushkin, a traditional stop for wedding corteges, the newlyweds were greeted by the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Council of Deputies, Mikhail Portnoy. Artists from the cultural and historical complex "Golden Ring of the City of Vitebsk "Dvina" presented them with ritual songs and blessings. And then the heroes of the occasion descended to the river, where they fed a pair of swans and took a ride on a festively decorated catamaran.
