A logistics center of the "Marko" holding is being prepared for opening in Vitebsk
The monolithic building, painted in the signature red and white colors of the footwear giant, has been erected on the outskirts of Vitebsk along Beshenkovichi Highway and looks festive against the backdrop of the autumn fields at the southwestern entrance to the regional center.
Today, the construction site is actively undergoing landscaping of the adjacent territory and preparation of the building for the installation and assembly of the "filling" (mainly shelving equipment). According to Nikolai Martynov, General Director of "Marko," whom "VV" correspondents met at the site, the readiness level is almost 90%. Almost all problems have been solved, there are only current issues with financing (the investment volume exceeds 100 billion rubles), but they are solvable and will not prevent the commissioning of the logistics center in November.
The total usable area of the facility is over 10 thousand square meters. In addition to the warehouse premises themselves, it is planned to organize a retail shopping center with a showroom of finished products. The logistics center is designed to serve enterprises and organizations within the holding, and can also be in demand as one of the elements of the national wholesale link for light industry goods, particularly its footwear segment. The project includes the possibility of providing storage, processing, and delivery services to third-party organizations and individual entrepreneurs. Such a service looks like this: in the showroom of the logistics center, a buyer chooses models, including from manufacturers not included in the holding but renting warehouse space at the facility, and places an order for batches of preferred footwear, which they can pick up themselves or purchase the corresponding transportation service.
Furthermore, in the future, it is possible to expand the warehouse complex by almost double. As emphasized by Nikolay Martynov, the engineering infrastructure built according to the project is designed to service facilities with a total area of at least 20 thousand square meters. In other words, under certain conditions and with demand, a similar sized building can be erected nearby, and the networks will cope with the increased load.
