In Vitebsk, young offenders are taken on an excursion to the detention center today

Young offenders in Vitebsk will go on an excursion to the temporary detention center of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee today, the BELTA correspondent was informed by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The unusual excursion is organized by the Vitebsk police during the "Choice" campaign specifically for teenagers who have committed various offenses for the first time and have been sentenced to measures not related to isolation from society (community service and correctional labor, restriction of liberty without referral to correctional institutions, suspended sentences, etc.). More than 30 difficult teenagers will get acquainted with the conditions of detention during their visit to the temporary detention center. Police and prosecutor's office staff will talk about the contingent of people who end up here and the prospects of their future lives. And this rather grim excursion will end on a more upbeat note - with the guys getting acquainted with an exhibition of weapons, special equipment, and a sweet table. The main goal of the campaign corresponds to its name. During their acquaintance with the detention center, teenagers should realize what they will have to face if they continue to commit offenses, and think about how to find a positive application for their abilities and energy. -0-
