In Vitebsk, youth law enforcement units were trained in rescuing people during ice-related disasters

В Витебске молодежные отряды правопорядка обучили спасению людей при бедствии на льду
Fighters of the youth detachments for law and order (MOOP) of the Vitebsk region now know how to rescue a person who has fallen through the ice.

They were introduced to the techniques and methods of providing first medical aid by employees of the regional organization of the OSOVOD and the "Vityaz" fire and rescue squad. The training and methodological gathering took place at the reservoir near the village of Sokólniki, Vitebsk district.

— Professionals demonstrated to the guys methods of rescuing people in distress on the ice and taught them the actions that need to be taken in such a situation. Under their supervision, the participants of the gathering tested the acquired knowledge on mannequins, — said Victoria Kuzheleva, chairperson of the regional MOOP headquarters. — Such events have been held before and will continue to be organized within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed in 2015 between the regional committee of the BRSM and the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Many of the guys were pleased with the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice, as most of them plan to dedicate their lives to service in law enforcement agencies.
