In Vitebsk, at the board of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, issues of the implementation of the "Clean Water" program and the handling of municipal solid waste were discussed

How is the "Clean Water" program being implemented in the Vitebsk region? How is sewage sludge from treatment facilities utilized in the regional center? How do utility workers in the northern region handle solid municipal waste? These and other issues were discussed at a board meeting attended by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Khmel.

Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vladimir Belous emphasized that the Vitebsk region has facilities that will surely attract the attention of colleagues from other regions. In particular, a constructed site for the utilization of sewage sludge, where a new technology for its use as organic fertilizer is being implemented. This is an important issue for the regional center, as over 1 million tons of sludge have accumulated. There are certain successes in the implementation of the "Clean Water" program; in particular, in small settlements of the region, workers of "Vitebskoblvodokanal" are installing mini-iron removal stations. This helps to solve the problem of providing residents with water of normative quality. This indicator in the Vitebsk region is 98%.

The participants of the board visited one such mini-station in the settlement of Dobreika, Vitebsk region. They also visited the city's wastewater treatment facilities, where they learned about the company's approach to reconstruction and its development prospects. They became acquainted with the interesting operational experience of the recently commissioned waste sorting plant at the city's solid waste landfill.

Minister of Housing and Communal Services Andrei Khmel emphasized that the main indicators of the "Comfortable Housing and Favorable Environment" program in the republic will be met, and the Vitebsk region is not lagging behind in this regard. However, regarding specific issues such as capital repairs of housing stock, replacement of heating networks, and the operation of the 115 service, there are concerns across all regions, which the board participants will address.
