In Vitebsk, half-meter pedestrian silhouettes were installed at an unregulated crossing

In Vitebsk, at an unregulated crossing, half-meter high reflective pedestrian silhouettes have been installed, reported Viktor Kosenkov, head of the road traffic organization department of the traffic police of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate.

The first figures in the shape of pedestrians appeared at an unregulated crossing on Chkalov Street near house №23. The location for the experiment was not chosen by chance. "This section of the road has heavy pedestrian traffic, especially during school hours – there are two gymnasiums and a school located here. The pedestrian crossing is unregulated, and to attract more attention from drivers, this technical solution has been implemented. The figure has a border of yellow film with increased reflectivity," Viktor Kosenkov explained.

After a certain period, the results of the innovation's operation will be summarized. Based on these results, specialists will decide whether to continue installing similar figures and in which locations in the city.
